The Ghost Blimp and its Missing Crew

Share

The most notorious blimp incident is the Hindenburg crash but it isn’t the strangest one. Five years after Hindenburg, the L-8 airship took off with its two man crew on a patrol mission along the coast of San Francisco.

Shortly after, the blimp descended and crashed in Daly City, California with both its pilots missing.
Accidents happened all the time and this case would have been forgotten if it weren’t for a few strange details. The life raft and both parachutes were still on board. Although the radio was working, no transmission had been made to indicate they were in trouble.
To this day, nobody knows what happened to pilots Ernest Cody and Charles Adams.
